All about Julie
My name is Julie King and I have lived in Saratoga Springs for 13 years. I am passionate about education and making sure each child has the best educational experience possible. I have 4 children (19, 16, 14, 11) and a husband who partners with me in all of my crazy ideas. My husband and I have previously been foster parents and I have worked as a social worker, specializing in children who have experienced abuse and neglect as well as those who have experienced domestic violence. I graduated from BYU in 1997 with a degree in Family Sciences. I have been an active volunteer in the community and currently volunteer with Girl Scouts of Utah as well as Boy Scouts of America. I have served on multiple PTA boards as well as PTA President at Riverview and Westlake Council PTA President. I have served on SCC for several schools and was appointed as a District Community Council representative. I was also appointed by the Utah State Board of Education to serve on the Data Privacy Advisory Group. In 2012, I was honored as the Parenting Magazine Mom Congress Utah Delegate. In 1999, I was named the Utah County Child Advocate of the Year. I am an avid reader and enjoy writing. Some of my writings have been published in LDS Living Magazine and the Deseret News.
